I am Nicole

I am now 15 years old

I am a living controversy

I am always seeking both sides

I am red white and green along with blue and white, always

I am a member at Sinai Temple, and Virginia ave park Teen Center

I am able to find one nice thing about everyone, you name them

I am in Street Team leadership team

I am the one who sings with the Cantor at Sinai, and in the Recording Studio at VAP

I am not a shop steward… yet

I am the Big Blue Bus lines 1 & 2 (most of the time)

I am Metro line 720 and 704

I am atypically drug free

I am the “FREE IRAN and see the real greatness” sign waving on Wilshire and Federal

I am the “certified Jewish mother” of my friends

I am the co-leader of Accepting Peace

I am the high top converse on Princeton and Arizona, thrown on the wire and watching everything

The Commission on the Status of Women (COSW) is conducting a survey to identify the needs and most important issues relevant to girls and women of all ages in the Santa Monica community. This is a wonderful opportunity to be heard and to help create a new focus and long range agenda for the COSW. Way too many girls think their FAT but their not,

Models media and actresses are part of the reason why girls feel this way. The people who are highlighted in mainstream media are very thin. I feel like girls should wake up! I hear, " I am fat." way too often. We should change this culture. Bigger is better!

why do girls wear so much makeup?

I feel girls wear makeup cause they want to look better for boys, and don't want to feel so insecure. Think about if you don't wear makeup people actually see you're natural beauty.When you wear make up for such along time an then you just stop you look really different.

I love makeup but I hate the people that wear soo much makeup at one time. A little goes a long way.

Accepting Peace Youth Venture

This year, the street team collaborated with Youth Venture. This organization is meant for helping youth start their own non-profit organization or venture. Our idea is to create more unity among students which will help reduce peer pressure, gossip, and tension between cliques. This will help students accept one another,which will help students not feel the need to do certain things to be accepted. 

As a starting point, we will be going to Friday Forum at Rosie's Girls summer camp. This forum will be used as an opportunity to learn how to facilitate discussion regarding acceptance, diversity, and issues related to peer conflict. We are excited about this opportunity because we will soon be able to take what we learn and bring to schools and other camps. WE ARE BRINGING PEACE TO YOUR FACE.

I really gotta ask, 

Is this city what it says it is?

The City of Los Angeles 

means its the City of The Angels

yet, some of the things it is known for doesn't seem too angelic

Bloods, Crips, MS-13, 18th Street, Arian Brotherhood, Do they rep this city right?

How about the people swimming in money when they know people are starving and all they can do is talk shit about middle class, and look down upon everyone? they are not angels.

Yet, they live up in the hills of The City of The Angels. 

and these people are so strong, they have so much 

but they don't use it the best way possible

like, couldn't all of the crack sales stamp out world hunger?

couldn't the money of the people swimming in money and the strength, and power of the gangs being united together help fix the worlds problems?

Welding Workshop Dec. 30th

The Rosie's Girls Street Team hosted a workshop in the Santa Monica City Yards to introduce girls from Virginia Avenue Park and PAL to welding and the camp experience. The girls created words that describe the Rosie's Girls camp. These words were designed by the girls to hang in there rooms as reminders of what they can do! The words were GIRLS, WE CAN DO IT, CONFIDENCE, FRIENDSHIP, STRONG, LEADERS, COURAGE, BELIEVE, ROSIE, ADVENTUROUS, and FUN! Each girl picked one of these words and a street team member helped them create a art piece. Below are the pictures!
